Ah, I’m afraid I don’t have much luck travelling… the few times I did or was about to:

+ there were violent demonstrations in France (and they started just when I finished both my trips there)

+ there were country-wide fires in Greece

+ there were bloody revolutions in Egypt

…so uhh… no luck at all xD

1. What’s your dream vacation?

Ohh, it’s been so long since I was anywhere… that I honestly feel like just going anywhere would be wonderful. But my dream vacation was supposed to happen when I hit 18. My mom promised me a journey all across Greece, which has always been a dream of mine (being an ancient history lover), but unfortunately, not enough people wanted to go on that trip so it was cancelled. I got my current PC as my bday present instead, but it just isn’t the same…

2. If you could do anything, without following the laws of the world in any way (life, death, gravity, etc.), what would it be?

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to have a power over dreams. The ability to share a dream with someone or just to plainly control what I dream about was always very appealing to me… it’s really a pity that free-will dreams happen so very rarely, they’re the closest I have to that.

3. Where’s your personal escape (somewhere in your house or some actual destination) when things get bad?

Hm. I just go throw myself on the bed and browse the net on my phone… but that’s how all of my ‘off’ time looks like, whether it’s bad or not, so I dunno if that really counts :3

4. What’s your favourite time of day (literal: ex. 3AM or sunset, sunrise, etc.)?

Before tumblr, it was 10pm, because that’s when all of my inspiration came and I could write or draw freely… now I don’t really have a favorite time, tho soon it’ll be ‘when I have no classes’ time xD

5. Do you have a nervous habit? If so, what?

I dunno. I just panic all over when I’m nervous xD

6. Are you more likely to spend money as soon as you get it or save it for a rainy day?

I always save my money, but after few months I tend to spend all of it on some cool piece of high tech wonderfulness :3 Currently I’m saving for a new rig.

7. What’s your favourite genre(s) of music?

Symphonic Metal.

8. If you had the chance go turn back the clock on any event in your lifetime and chance it, would you (for yourself or for someone you knew)? What would it be?

The only thing I’m upset about is my choice in matura exams, so that maybe.

9. Do you like anime/manga? If so, what’s your favourite (or top three favourites)?

Anime: Code Geass, Death Note, Maria+Holic.

Manga: No.6, Kyou Kara Maou, Yami no Matsuei.

10. If you could have one physical trait from any character in any book/show/etc., what would it be and why?

I’d love to be like Zam Wesell from SW universe xD

11. Do you speak another language? If so, what is it, and can you type a sentence or a word that you like in that language?

Since my one true language is Polish… English is the only ‘other language’ that I wield somehow decently. Since I aspire to one day learn Japanese too, here’s my favorite ‘lil thing 「本当に愛してる。」.

I’m a sap, sue me.

Everything, I guess? I mostly fail at everything I want to do so xD

3. Would you rather lose all your old memories or never be able to make new ones?

I’d rather lose the old ones, because that gives me a chance to be a better ‘new’ person, and does not stuck me with my mess of a self.

4. The last file you saved to your computer: what did you name it? (Feel free to either tell us what the contents of the file are or not.)

I don’t really change the files’ original names, so I have no clue xD

5. Favorite curse word?

GODDAMNIT!

6. Have you ever had to face your greatest fear? What happened?

Just having to talk to anyone irl feels like a nightmare. Ughh, I honestly wish I just could lock myself up in my home and never go out.

7. You are invisible for the next hour! What do you do?

Only invisibility? No other ghostly abilities? Well then… I’d try my best to assassinate our prime minister and his useless lackeys xD

8. If money wasn’t an issue, what do you think you’d be doing with your life right now?

Writing my book, goddamnit.

9. What song is stuck in your head right now?

Ughh, too much gangnam style in the air to be healthy. So, that. Also, Insane by Scars on Broadway.

10. What kind of shampoo are you currently using?

Some timotei with guarana extracts… Hell if I know what is it for, but it has the most beautiful smell :3

I sneeze all over the place so you better slay clear XD

The beginning week of October will be dedicated to raising awareness about art editing and the results it has on artists and the artist community.

WHY ART EDITING IS BAD:

To give a brief definition, editing art is taking another person’s hard work and tweaking it to please the editor, to make it ‘more interesting’. Artists spend SO much time on their work, making it exactly fit their artistic vision, and when they’re ready to share their work with the world, people think it’s okay to take their hard work, spend two minutes ‘fixing’ it up in photoshop and get credit for it. Because that’s what art editing is— editing another person’s artwork and recieving credit and praise for it. Think about the real artist’s feelings before you even think about editing.

Most editors get their work from pivix, a japanese art website. So with the obvious language difference, editors are unable to ask permission to edit work in the first place. So if you don’t have permission, nor are you able to ask for it, why would you think it’s okay to edit and post another persons art?

Another point is that pixiv artists aren’t dumb. A lot of them know what tumblr is. Hell, even some of them have tumblr blogs. They don’t miss what you’re doing to their work, and that is why a lot of them take down their work and some of them never post their art again, which is a shame to lose great artists over something so stupid.

Think of it like this— say I went downtown to New Orleans, down to the French Quarter where many artists line up on the street to display their art. Now an art editor comes around and takes a painting from one of the vendors and pulls it aside, whipping out their paintbrush and adding their own little details. The vendor watches in horror as the editor places it back, shrugging off the vendor. “It looks better doesn’t it?”

Don’t say it’s not the same thing because it is.

Art you find on the internet does not belong to you. Unless you are the original poster, you have no right to take and edit another person’s work. It does NOT and will NEVER belong to you. Just because it is easier to access on the computer does not mean it is not as valuable as tangible art. What this all boils down to is respect.

SOME COMMON EXCUSES:

‘I can’t draw, this is my way of expressing myself artistically!’

Learn how to draw! Drawing takes time, hard work and practice. And if you’re still not finding that drawing is your thing, and hey, maybe you enjoy editing images! If you really want to edit, try editing official work. This art is made to be mass produced, and the artists are aware of this. Another alternative is stock photos— deviantART, for example, has plenty of stock photos for you to use! That’s what they’re there for!

‘We’re celebrating the artist by making tributes to their work!’

No. You’re butchering their hard work and effort by cropping, adding saturation and uneccesary textures. Ask permission, and if they say yes ( which is very rare ), then you have the green light to do so! Permission is key here.

’But we provide sources!’

That’s not the point. The point is that editing art without permission is wrong and dumb, and it goes against most artist wishes. Crediting them does not suddenly make it a-ok for you to edit their work.

The internet is really handy for these kinds of things, and thats what reverse google image search and websites like SAUCENAO are for! When in doubt, keep it out.

Don’t let editors think that what they are doing is acceptable. Here’s what you can do to help stop this:

1) DON’T REBLOG EDITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LITERALLY CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. If you like the picture, repost it as original with source to actual ARTIST. We need to stop supporting editors.

2) If you know someone who edits, kindly inform them or link them to this post. Speaking up about this is essential. If you don’t let them know what they are doing is terrible, they will NOT stop.

Guys, do whatever you want, leave or stay, just know that I won’t post as much as I did in the summer - not only I have to actually deal with my uni stuff (far more than I’d like to), but all the fanarts I see around were already posted here bazillion times. And like I said, I don’t really want to add to that number. While I’ll try to post stuff and write some drabbles when I’m done with my graduation, just keep in mind that it won’t be like in the past ; )
